He said that in most cases of abuse of children, local people and close people are involved, awareness should be raised to prevent incidents of abuse.
During the transmission, psychologist Professor Dr. Saima Dawood said that before this, people did not talk about the cases of child abuse.
He said that cases started being reported due to increasing awareness, it is important to protect boys as much as girls.
On the other hand, cases of child abuse have increased to an alarming extent in Punjab. There are more boys than girls among the victims of rape.
According to the half-yearly report of the Home Department, the ratio of rape of boys was 69 percent while the ratio of girls was 31 percent, the highest number of incidents occurred in Gujranwala.
The report also points out that most of the victimized families do not file a case due to fear of lawsuits and embarrassment over the abuse.
Non-medical treatment of abused children by parents is also a hindrance in registering the case.
