There has been heavy rain in various cities of Central Punjab including Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Kasur, Chunian.
In Gujranwala, up to 138 mm of rain in a few hours turned roads and underpasses into puddles, making it difficult for vehicles to move.
After the heavy rains in Kasur and Chounian, the water accumulated knee deep, while the water also entered the houses.
After the rain in Gujranwala and its surroundings, water accumulated on the roads, low-lying areas came under water.
Due to the rain water, most of the motorcycles and vehicles were blocked on various roads.
Rainwater accumulated on the highways of Satellite Town, Model Town and People’s Colony areas of Gujranwala.
Sui Gas Road, Hydari Underpass, People’s Colony Underpass were flooded with rain water.
Several feet of water also accumulated in front of the District Headquarters Hospital Gujranwala due to which doctors, patients and nurses are facing difficulty in traveling to and from the hospital.
According to Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala, WASA teams are working to remove rain water.
He said that the highest rainfall of 138 mm has been recorded in Ghanta Ghar Chowk area of Gujranwala.
According to Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala, 105 mm of rain has fallen in Satellite Town, 82 mm in Model Town and 79 mm in Shiranwala Bagh.
