Shahid Afridi, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, says that there should be no boycott of going to India for the World Cup.
Speaking at the event in Karachi, Shahid Afridi said that the Pakistan team must go to India and come back victorious. After the success, there was also a rush on the team bus, this pressure has its own fun.
Shahid Afridi said that whatever matters are decided between the Indian and Pakistani cricket boards, it should be officially announced so that there is no disorder, it is not a correct practice to bring out news from within the board.
The former captain also criticized the frequent changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and said that 3 chairmen changed in 6 to 8 months, that too at a time when the Asia Cup and the World Cup are on the horizon.
He further said that important decisions have to be made on such an occasion, it is not known whether there is any system in PCB and whether anyone follows this system or not.
Shahid Afridi also said that every chairman thinks that the work he is doing is better, the former chairman did not do good work, that is the biggest problem.
He said that there should be a system, even if the faces keep changing. Who will take the important decisions of the Asia Cup and the World Cup, lest the blame game starts after a few days.
Shahid Afridi said that it is important to have cricketers in the cricket committee because it is a cricketer’s show, if there are cricketers in the committee then the chairman will be strong.
Regarding the Test series against Sri Lanka, he said that the Pakistan team is in the best shape, it is strong in every field, the Pakistan team can beat any team in any format, there are 8 or 9 months of continuous cricket ahead. One has to focus on fitness and maintain fitness.
The former captain said that the bench strength of the Pakistan team should be strong, otherwise it will be difficult if Shaheen Shah, Babar or Rizwan are not fit. Have backup players.
He said that he is happy to be the brand ambassador of the Sindh Premier League (SPL). Like here, there should be a cricket league in Balochistan.
