18 Pakistanis who were released from Indian jails returned home

Lahore: 18 Pakistanis who were released from Indian jails returned home via the Wagah border, Pakistani citizens were handed over to the Punjab Rangers by the Indian authorities.

The Indian government has released 18 Pakistanis who have completed their sentences, including 12 civil prisoners and 6 fishermen. When Pakistani citizens entered Pakistan through the Wagah border, they raised slogans of Pakistan Zindabad.

Muhammad Hanif, Muhammad Waqas, Nazish, Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Ramadan, Muhammad Tariq, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Shan, Long Muhammad Chandani, Rahab Ali Chandani, Ahmad, Roshan Ali, Abdul Amin, Muhammad Arif, Farid Alam, Muhammad Ramzan and Mushtaq Ahmed are included.

Pakistan High Commission New Delhi has played an important role for the release and repatriation of Pakistani prisoners.

It should be noted that during the last four months, Pakistan released 400 Indian prisoners, most of whom were fishermen, while India released 22 Pakistanis in May 2023 and 18 more today.

Pakistan and India exchanged lists of prisoners on July 1, according to which the number of Indian prisoners in Pakistan’s jails is 308, including 42 civilians and 266 fishermen, while the number of Pakistanis in Indian jails is 417. There were 343 civilians and 74 fishermen. Among them, 18 Pakistanis have been released and returned today.
