Instead of Nawab Shah Airport, Multan has been declared as the alternative airport of Karachi.
It should be noted that in an emergency situation, flights from Karachi Airport were used to land at Nawab Shah Airport.
According to aviation sources, Nawab Shah’s status as an alternative airport to Karachi has been terminated. Now, in case of any emergency, Karachi flights will have to divert to Multan.
According to the sources, even in case of emergency or bad weather, Karachi flights will now land in Multan.
Spokesperson Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has also confirmed the status of Multan Airport as an alternative airport.
