Indian Cricket Board official Arun Dhumal has said that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
Arun Dhumal, who is in Durban for the ICC meetings, while talking to the news agency, said that the Asia Cup schedule was finalized in the meeting between Jay Shah and Zaka Ashraf.
Arun Dhumal says that only 4 matches of the league stage will be played in Pakistan while the remaining 9 matches including the Pakistan-India match will be played in Sri Lanka.
He said that if India and Pakistan teams reach the final, it will also be in Sri Lanka.
According to Arun Dhumal, in the meeting between Jay Shah and Zaka Ashraf, only the Asia Cup schedule was discussed, the issue of the Indian team or the secretary of the Indian board going to Pakistan was not discussed.
According to reports, Pakistan will play only match against Nepal at home ground in Asia Cup while remaining three matches will be between Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
The Asia Cup matches in Sri Lanka are likely to be held in Dambulla, the India-Pakistan match may also be held here.
It should be noted that the Asia Cup is scheduled from August 31 to September 17. ACC has already announced the Asia Cup under the hybrid model.
