The Lahore High Court has reserved judgment on the petition against the dismissal of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Election Commissioner Ahmed Shahzad Farooq.
Justice Muhammad Raza Qureshi heard the petition of Ahmad Shahzad Farooq.
During the hearing, the Additional Attorney General told the court that the term of the Chief Election Commissioner has not been fixed under the PCB Act.
The lawyer for the federal government said that there are no rules and regulations for the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner under the PCB constitution. The Chief Election Commissioner PCB can be dismissed at any time.
It may be noted that the petitioner has challenged the move to remove the Chief Election Commissioner from office.
While giving a verdict on the said application, the Supreme Court issued notices to the Chairman PCB Management Committee and other parties for July 20.
Justice Muhammad Raza Qureshi sent the case to the court of Justice Shahid Karim for further hearing.
The court declared that a similar application is under hearing in the court of Justice Shahid Karim, it is appropriate for him to hear this case.
