Cricket Australia has announced the Big Bash League (BBL) schedule.
Cricket Australia has introduced a new style finals series in the BBL.
The BBL will have 40 league matches, the final series will consist of four matches.
The first match will be played on December 7 between last year’s finalists Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars in Brisbane.
The four-match final series will begin on January 19, with the top two teams competing in the qualifiers, with the winner qualifying for the finals.
On January 20, there will be a knockout match between the third and fourth placed teams.
On January 22, there will be a challenger match between the losers of the qualifiers and the winners of the knockouts.
The winner of the Challenger will play the winner of the Qualifier in the final on January 24.
