Basic amendments in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Ordinance have been drafted, the proposed amendments will be brought through the Presidential Ordinance tonight.
Sources of the Ministry of Law and Justice say that under NAB rules, the arrested accused can be kept on physical remand for 30 days instead of 14.
Chairman NAB will be able to issue arrest warrants for the accused for non-cooperation in the investigation, the federal cabinet has approved the proposed amendments.
Sources say that Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani will issue a Presidential Ordinance regarding the amendments tonight.
