Gunman killed in shooting outside US consulate in Jeddah

A gunman and a security officer were killed outside the US consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

According to Arab media, a person parked a car near the consulate and came out with a weapon in hand.

To deal with this situation, the security personnel deployed at the American consulate opened fire on it, killing the gunman.

A Nepali officer posted at the US consulate was also killed in the exchange of fire.

It was not clear what was the nationality of the person who got out of the vehicle and why he was armed.
