The Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket has revealed widespread racism, discrimination and classism in English cricket in its investigative report.
The 137-page two-year investigative report says that English cricket suffers from institutionalized and systematic racism, sexism, racism and elitism in English cricket is a serious matter.
The ICEC said in its report that racism has lost the best black players in English cricket, with players not complaining to the board because of a lack of confidence.
According to the report, umpires often ignore complaints of abuse, preferring elite private schools over public schools in cricket.
The ICEC report said that because of class discrimination in cricket and women cricketers are considered inferior, women are not allowed to play Tests at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
According to the report, women are under-represented in decision-making and paid shamefully less. Women should be paid at par with male cricketers in international matches.
ICEC has said in its report that 87 percent of the Pakistani community participated in the investigation process.
In the preface of the report by former Prime Minister Sarjan Major, it is written that the time has come to review the equality in sports and increase the inclusion of people of different ethnicities.
