The US-based Pakistani athlete expressed his desire to represent Pakistan in long distance and marathon events. It is said that athletes benefiting from training abroad can make Pakistan’s name shine in international competitions.
34-year-old Umar Saeed has been living in America for the past 20 years. Umar Saeed, who belongs to Gujranwala, is a marathon runner and in the recent marathon race held in America, he got everyone’s attention by covering the distance in 2 hours 22 minutes and 41 seconds.
In an interview to Geo News, Umar Saeed said that just as overseas players are getting opportunities in football and baseball, the same should be done in athletics.
The long-distance athlete added that he wants to represent Pakistan in international events and wishes to set an example for young marathon runners in Pakistan.
