Pakistan’s Usman Wazir successfully defended his youth world title at the Karakoram International Boxing Championship. He defeated Tanzanian boxer Faqiri Salim on points basis. In the eight-round fight, all the judges gave a unanimous decision in favor of Usman Wazir.
A large number of spectators were present at the Lalak Jan Stadium in Gilgit to witness the match, who gave Usman Wazir a warm welcome on his arrival at the arena.
Pakistan’s two fast bowlers Shahnawaz Damirani and Mir Hamza were also present in the stadium on this occasion.
Both the cricketers read the national anthem along with boxer Usman Wazir before the start of the match.
At the start of the match, Tanzanian boxer Faqiri Salim put Usman Wazir under pressure. In the initial rounds, Usman was busy as the defense minister.
Usman Wazir fought well in the last two rounds of this eight-round fight and left his opponent helpless with his punches.
At the end of the competition, all the judges gave a unanimous decision in favor of Usman Wazir, causing a wave of joy among the spectators in the arena. He also raised slogans of Pakistan Zindabad on this occasion.
