Pakistan pharmaceutical manufacturers announced to stop the production of medicines after a week.
Speaking to Jang News, Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association leader Qazi Mansoor Dilawar said that the production of medicines will be stopped after a week.
He further said that due to the huge increase in the value of the dollar, it is not possible to produce medicines at the current prices.
Qazi Mansoor Dilawar also said that various companies have started giving notices to the government and DRAP to stop production.
He said that 10 companies in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi have given notices to stop production.
Leading Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers said that after a week, the production and supply of medicines will not be possible for the companies.
He said that the prices of raw materials, electricity and gas have increased tremendously, in the next few days all pharmaceutical companies will give notices to stop production.
Qazi Mansoor Dilawar said that the government and DRAP do not understand the problems of pharmaceutical companies and people.
Drape officials said in this regard that no pharmaceutical company has yet received a letter related to stopping production, no pharmaceutical company has expressed its decision to stop production even verbally.
