Pakistan Women's Football Team begins preparations for international friendlies

The Pakistan Women’s Football Team has started preparations for the international friendlies to be held next month. The players of the national team are determined to play better football in the future than in the past and continue the attacking brand of play.

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is in touch with four countries including Kyrgyzstan and Mauritius to organize international friendlies for the Pakistan Women’s team in next month’s FIFA window.

While PFF is focusing on the management of football activities on one hand, on the other hand the players are all focused on improving their game.

The 27 players announced for the camp are working on football skills and physical strength under the supervision of coach Adeel Rizki in Karachi.

Adeel Rizki says that the focus in the camp will be on preparing the team to adopt an attacking brand of play.

Adeel Rizki said that compared to the past, the defense line of the Pakistan Women’s Football Team is quite organized, which will have been seen in the Olympic qualifiers as well.

He further said that there is always room for improvement and Pakistan Women’s Football Team is also improving in various areas. The process of improvement is gradual.

Adeel Rizki said that among the players announced for the camp, all the players except Kayla Siddiqui, Zulfia Nazir and Kainat Bukhari have reported, other players will join the team in the next few days.

He said that Pakistan team will benefit from Kayla Siddiqui playing in America.

On a question, Adeel Rizki said that the participation of overseas players in the Pakistan Women’s Football Team also gives local players a chance to learn a lot.

He said that the players are not just included in the team, there is regular scrutiny and it is seen which player can be useful for the team.

Speaking to Geo News during the camp, Pakistan Women’s Team Captain Maria Khan said that the identity of the Pakistan Women’s Football Team should be its attacking brand and the team will continue to play this brand of football.

Maria Khan said that the Pakistan women’s football team has improved a lot, the team is now playing the fourth event since the SAFF Cup, the team is now far ahead of where it was before, the team has skills, the important thing is this. That the team continues to get series of international matches on future basis.

To a question, Maria Khan said that the team will miss Nadia Khan.

The players in the camp expressed their happiness to get another international event and said that the team will improve only by playing continuously.

Soha Hirani, the midfielder of the team, says that no matter how much the players prepare in the training camp, there is no substitute for what can be learned from international experience, so it is important that the team gets as many matches as possible.

Another midfielder Raman Farid said that the team has improved a lot since the SAFF Cup, the players were not in practice on the occasion of the SAFF Cup but now the quality of fitness has also improved and the understanding of the game has also improved a lot.

Goalkeeper Nisha Ashraf said that the coaches are helping the players a lot in the preparation, the competition in the field of goalkeeping has increased a lot, which also puts pressure on the players to work harder.
