Special Olympics World Games, Pakistan's number of gold medals has increased to 6

Pakistan’s Usman Qamar won another gold medal at the ongoing Special Olympics World Games in Germany.

After winning gold in road cycling yesterday, Usman Qamar won gold in time trial today. Zainab Ali Raza also won gold medal in cycling. So far, the number of gold medals won by Pakistan in the event has increased to 6.

Usman Qamar completed the distance of 2 km road race of time trial in 7 minutes 21.59 seconds while Zainab Ali Raza completed the distance of 2 km in 6 minutes 49.29 seconds. Usman Qamar has so far won 2 gold medals in the World Games.

On the other hand, Muhammad Ambassador Abid Rizvi of Pakistan won the silver medal by completing the distance of 25 km race in 53 minutes 34.85 seconds.

Pakistan’s Haider Ahmed bagged silver in the squat of the 83 weight class category of the powerlifting event, bronze in the bench press, bronze in the deadlift and a silver medal in the combined weight with a total weight lift of 250 kg.

Pakistan’s Maria Manzoor won silver medal in bench press and bronze medal in combined weight category of 69 weight class category.

Pakistan’s Sana came fourth with a time of 1 minute 26.82 in the quarter finals of the 400 meters race of athletics.

In Badminton, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan 21-18 and 21-15 while Macau China defeated 21-17 and 21-15.

In the field hockey mix event, Pakistan defeated Paraguay 0-5, in the second match, Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Bulgaria 5-4.

In the women’s basketball event, Bulgaria won against Pakistan by 21 points against 11 points.

In the unified men’s table tennis event, Imtisham Danish and Adeel Khan of Pakistan won the bronze medal by winning 3-2 against France.

In the women’s event, Pakistan’s Faiza Qamar and Iman Amir won the bronze medal with a 3-0 victory over Saudi Arabia.

Swimming Events Pakistan’s Hasan Patel finished sixth in 25m freestyle, Pakistan’s Amina Momin finished eighth in women’s 25m freestyle and Fatima Khan finished fifth in 257m freestyle.

All three Pakistani swimmers improved their individual records at the World Games.
