There is no Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) doctor on alternate night shift at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport for two weeks.
According to sources, if a plane lands at Lahore Airport in a medical emergency at night, no doctor will be present at the airport.
According to CAA sources, the doctor who was on duty in the night shift at Lahore Airport is on a month’s leave.
Two weeks later, no other doctor has been posted in his place, with only one nurse replacing the doctor on the night shift.
According to sources, if a passenger’s health deteriorates at the airport at night or if a plane lands in a medical emergency, the doctor will not be present.
According to the CAA spokesperson, the Chief Medical Officer is on call at Lahore Airport for medical emergencies at night, while a doctor from the Federal Ministry of Health is also at the airport.
