Balochistan’s budget of 750 billion rupees for the next financial year has been presented, the development expenditure in the budget is estimated at 229 billion, while the non-development expenditure is estimated at 521 billion rupees.
The total estimated revenue in the budget will be 701 billion rupees and the budget deficit will be 49 billion rupees. During the fiscal year 2023-24, 4389 new posts have been created.
The salaries of government employees have been increased by 35% from grade 1 to 16, 30% from grade 17 to 22 and pension by 17.5%, while the minimum wage of workers has been fixed at Rs 32,000.
The session of Balochistan Assembly started 3 hours late under the chairmanship of Speaker Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali. In the meeting, Provincial Finance Minister Engineer Zamrik Khan Achakzai presented the budget and said that the budget of Balochistan for the next financial year is 750 billion rupees. Balochistan will get an income of Rs 701 billion in the coming financial year.
He said that the total deficit during the next financial year will be 49 billion rupees, this deficit is 23 billion rupees less than the 72 billion rupees of the current financial year.
The provincial minister said that in the next financial year, the ongoing expenditure in the province will be 521 billion rupees, the size of PSDP of the province is 229 billion rupees, the total number of ongoing development schemes in PSDP is 4721, for which 170.724 billion rupees, while The number of new development schemes is 5068 for which 58.667 billion rupees have been allocated.
