More than 2,000 cases of measles have been reported in Punjab from April to May.
According to the Punjab Health Department, more than 580 children were infected with measles in Lahore, 521 from Rawalpindi, 114 from Hafizabad, 99 from Jhang and 72 from Sheikhupura.
The health department has said that 56 cases of measles have been reported from Kasur, 49 from Sialkot and 43 from Toba Tek Singh, while 42 children were infected with measles in Faisalabad.
According to Director Immunization Programme, vaccination of children aged 6 months to 5 years is being carried out in 265 affected USCs, most cases of measles are reported from May to July.
