exercise; A free and useful medicine

Unfortunately, we have not developed a healthy lifestyle and standard diet. Arguably, our mood has become such that despite the diseases, we do not change our habits, due to which the severity of the disease increases.

Considering all kinds of dangerous and life-threatening diseases as trivial and temporary, they do not include getting rid of them in their priorities. According to a recent report, lack of exercise is one of the major causes of most diseases in Pakistan.

It is a common observation that we people are busy eating and drinking all day long. Sitting in houses, hotels, rooms, footpaths or other entertainment places, they are engaged in gossip for hours. For this we have more time and more money.

On the other hand, it is difficult for us to find twenty, thirty minutes for walking, jogging or exercise due to ‘busyness’. The common man also knows the benefits of exercise and with a healthy lifestyle we can get rid of diseases.

However, negligence in this case shows that health is not among our priorities. Doctors advise that daily walks and exercise are very important for your better health. Especially for patients suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and depression, walking plays the role of an important medicine. But we are the ones who are heedless, careless and unconcerned about our health.

And due to this laziness, laziness and neglect, a minor illness gradually throws us into the mouth of death and disability. However, laziness and neglect have become a part of our collective psyche. Be it our attitude towards illness or the behavior of office workers while working in public and private institutions.

As far as exercise is concerned, what is our loss in it? When we look for our own benefit in all activities and avoid everything that involves financial loss, then in exercise, the spiritual and physical benefit is the only benefit and the loss is nothing. If we can walk to our office, work place or market within a short distance from home, then why use a bike or a car which incurs financial and physical loss.

You save a little time and harm your health and pocket daily. The secret of the good health and longevity of the people of earlier times was that they used to walk miles to their offices, work places and farms, and the food was also very simple. They were unfamiliar with adulteration, harmful substances and drinks.

Ancient people may not have known the name walk as such, but hard work and walking miles would have given them a good workout. Therefore, in today’s world, all health experts and nutritionists say that good food and strength medicine cannot be a substitute for walking or exercise. Exercise has amazing positive effects on all organs of the human body, especially the heart and mind.

It is said that exercise and mental health are closely related because it improves our learning process. According to a report, a short period of exercise activates genes that improve the communication between brain cells.

In 2019, Oregon Health and Science University reported through a study that brain activity increases even after just one exercise. This is due to better blood supply and better connections between neurons.

Scientists at the University of South Australia have reported after a study that exercise increases nerve flexibility (neuroplasticity). In this condition, the wiring and configuration of brain cells (neurons) keeps changing. This process is very helpful in learning and understanding new skills. The process of mental flexibility continues throughout life and helps in learning new things. But the question is which exercise is most suitable for increasing mental flexibility.

According to scientists, ‘bi-intensity interval training’ (HIIT) exercise, if done for 20 minutes, increases brain flexibility. Exercise prevents brain degeneration. We know that mental capacity declines with age. If this speed increases beyond normal, dementia, Alzheimer’s and other diseases are born.

Regular exercise reduces brain degeneration and aging and helps protect against many diseases. Health experts are even saying that exercise habit prevents memory from being affected. In 2019, scientists from the University of Exeter examined two hundred thousand adults. The results showed that exercise can reduce the risk of dementia by up to 32%, even if there is no genetic predisposition to the disease. But it is important to give up smoking completely and eat a balanced diet.

Exercise plays a huge role in relieving mental stress and increasing brain power. Apart from this, the diet given in early life also plays an important role in the brain development of the child, but so does exercise. Therefore, it is important to expose children to physical labor from an early age. Should be kept away from the cheap and easy.

According to health experts, if someone is going through constant mental stress, mental exercise like reading a book, newspaper or magazine can be very useful and effective. Scientists at the University of California have proven that if children and teenagers get used to sports and exercise from an early age, it can have very beneficial effects on their overall health, especially the heart and mind.

Such children are less susceptible to psychological diseases when they are young and their brains are also sharp. Exercise also helps prevent blindness and premature aging. If seen, today most of us people cry about lack of vision and premature aging, so along with other related medicines, time must be taken for exercise as well.

In this regard, the University of Virginia conducted an experiment on two groups of mice. One group was allowed to roam freely and the other group was kept in a narrow cage. When the laser eyes of both groups were tested four weeks later, it was found that regular exercise could reduce vision loss by 32 to 45 percent.

Thus we can say that exercise is also a great protector of eye sight. Exercise strengthens the body’s immune system, and this natural defense system is strengthened, enabling the body to fight many diseases, including cancer.

During exercise, our muscles release a variety of metabolites into the bloodstream that enable the immune system to fight cancer. Sweden’s famous Karolinska Institute conducted experiments on animals and reported that exercise makes T-cells stronger to fight cancer.

Exercising helps the beneficial bacteria in our stomach and intestines to keep the whole body healthy. This entire system is called the microbiome in medical terms.

The habit of exercise maintains the amount of microbiome in the body and the necessary amount of bacteria in our body is maintained. In 2017, experts from the University of Illinois discovered that exercise increases the healthy bacteria in the stomach.

In this he conducted experiments on mice and humans. After examining the excrement of mice before and after exercise, it was found that exercise keeps the ratio of bacteria correct. Therefore, we should take some time for exercise on a daily basis, in which our benefit is more and the harm is less. not even.
