The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the match officials panel for the 2023-24 season. Remunerations were increased while Tamman Zulfiqar also became the first woman to join the match referee panel.
PCB on Tuesday announced the panel of match officials for the new season 2023-24.
The highlight of this season is the return of regional and departmental cricket after four years, which means that the number of matches in the season will also increase.
A total of 97 matches of the First XI were played in the last season, while around 200 matches of the First XI will be played in the 2023-2024 season after the restoration of the 2014 constitution of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has increased the number of match officials in each category keeping in view the annual performance review and requirements, which will not only give these match officials more opportunities to work in the existing system but also increase their income. There will also be opportunities.
Pakistan Cricket Board has increased the monthly retainer of Elite and Supplementary Panel by 20%. Apart from this, the Cricket Board has also decided to increase the match fees, daily allowances and retirement benefits of the match officials by 20%.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has increased the number of elite panel of match referees by 7. Now this number has increased to 13.
The new match officials include Aleem Khan Musa, Athar Laiq, Bilal Khalji, Kamran Chaudhry, Khalid Jamshed, Muhammad Aslam and Sohail Idris.
Pakistan Cricket Board has also increased the panel of elite umpires from 14 to 23 considering that 8 first-class matches will be played simultaneously.
9 match officials have been promoted from supplementary to elite panel, they include Abdul Muqit, Aslam Breach, Farooq Ali Khan, Ghulam Sarwar, Imranullah Aslam, Kashif Sohail, Majid Hussain, Qaiser Khan and Zulfikar Jan.
Supplementary Panel Officials will be available for First XI matches though in non-first-class and pathway matches.
Pakistan Cricket Board has promoted 9 match referees among them Taman Zulfiqar who is the first woman match referee to reach this stage.
Apart from them, Abul Hasnat Rao, Allah Datto, Fazl Akbar Shah, Ghulam Mustafa, Inamullah Khan, Amiruddin Ansari, Samiul Haq and Sohail Khan are included.
On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board has also announced the officials of women and international panel.
The female umpires include Aafia Amin, Humira Farah, Nazia Nazir, Rafat Mustafa, Sabahat Rasheed, Salima Imtiaz and Shakeela Rafique.
The panel of international match officials consists of umpires Aleem Dar, Asif Yaqub, Rashid Riaz Waqar and Faisal Khan Afridi while the match referees include Muhammad Javed Malik and Ali Naqvi.
