The budget for the new financial year will be presented in the National Assembly today, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will present the budget proposals in the House.
The size of the budget for the new financial year is expected to be 14500 billion rupees, the target of tax collections is 9200 billion, and 7300 billion rupees will be allocated for debt and interest payments.
Taxes of more than 1600 billion will be collected in the budget, taxes of 510 billion have been invested in the mini budget.
1800 billion rupees will be allocated for defense, the budget proposes a subsidy of 1300 billion rupees.
According to reports, the highest subsidy of 976 billion rupees will be kept for the power sector.
It is also likely to increase the salaries and pensions of government employees by 20 percent and increase the minimum wage.
