Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi will begin his visit to Latin American countries from Sunday.
According to Iran’s official media, President Raisi will go to Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, the US has imposed various sanctions on these countries.
The visit is being described as a visit to ‘friendly countries’ through which Iran’s economic, political and scientific cooperation with Latin American countries will be increased.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian visited Venezuela during February this year.
Oil producing countries Iran and Venezuela play a very important role in OPEC.
In June last year, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro also visited Iran where the two countries signed a 20-year cooperation agreement in the oil, petrochemical and defense sectors.
