Pakistani fast bowler Zaman Khan has said that after watching him play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), his family realized that he can do something in cricket.
In a special conversation with Geo News, Zaman Khan said that his parents came from South Waziristan and settled in Mirpur for the purpose of labour.
He said that his parents were against playing cricket, took beatings but his elder brother supported him.
He said that he used to play tape ball cricket in his free time while memorizing the Quran. I had never bought a bat. If someone sponsored a bat, I would give it to someone else.
Zaman Khan said that he bowled hard ball for the first time in the U-16 trial.
He said that when he saw Lahore Qalandars in the T20 match, he chose him. After seeing him playing in PSL, the family knew that I can do something in cricket.
The fast bowler of the national team said that bowlers give less support to other bowlers, but the support given by Lahore Qalandar captain Shaheen Afridi is unbelievable.
Zaman Khan said that Samin Rana, Atif Rana and Aqib Javed are like family to me, the entire administration of Lahore Qalandars is like family to me.
The young fast bowler said that I did not even dream that I would come to play in England or play in the national team.
He said that Mickey Arthur is the best coach and mentor, Mickey Arthur supports me inside and outside the ground.
“I will try to win as many matches as possible for Derbyshire with my performance, I will learn as much as I can from fellow players and coaches,” he said.
