The Indian government has given clearance to the Indian football authorities to host Pakistan in the SAFF Cup this month.
According to sources, the All India Football Federation has informed the Pakistan Football Federation that all relevant ministries of the Indian government have given clearance for the arrival of the Pakistan Football Team in Bangalore.
Sources say that the All India Football Federation has sent a formal invitation to the PFF along with clearance letters from the Indian Sports, Home and External Affairs Ministries.
Sources say that the AIFF has sent these documents to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad and then to the Indian High Commission in Mauritius on the request of the PFF.
Sources say that the Pakistan football team will leave for Mauritius tomorrow for the 4-nation tournament and will apply for Indian visa from there.
However, before boarding the flight to India, the Pakistan football team will also need clearance from the Pakistani government.
Sources say that Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Interior have given permission to participate in the four-nation tournament in Mauritius, but the decision on participation in the SAFF Cup in India will be taken later.
