Former Pakistan captain, fast bowler Wasim Akram has given an important advice to the Indian fast bowlers regarding their participation in the ICC World Test Championship final.
According to an ICC report, Wasim Akram has advised the Indian fast bowlers to exercise restraint.
Wasim Akram has said that ‘be patient against Australia’s top order’.
“Indian bowlers should not worry about the new ball because we all know that it swings for 10 to 15 overs, so as a fast bowler don’t give extra runs in the first 10 to 15 overs,” he said.
Talking about the pitch at the Oval, he said, “The pitch usually favors teams from the subcontinent, but we have always visited here in late August or early September.”
But now the match between India and Australia is happening in June, Wasim Akram believes that both the pitch and the ball in the ground will be new and different.
India is all set to face Australia in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) starting from June 7 at the Oval Cricket Ground in London.
While India’s fast bowling attack will be based on the experienced duo of Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj, the game will likely be opened by all-rounder Shardul Thakur.
Apart from this, one of Jaydev Anadakt and Umesh Yadav might also feature.
It should be noted that Wasim Akram took a total of 414 Test wickets for Pakistan in his 17-year career in red ball cricket and is included in the list of the best fast bowlers in the world.
