Russia announced the start of naval exercises in the Baltic Sea, just a day before NATO member states began their annual Baltic exercises.
6,000 NATO personnel, 50 ships and more than 45 aircraft are participating in the exercise.
This is the first time that Finland is also participating in naval exercises as an alliance member.
The Russian military said in its statement that 40 ships and boats, 25 aircraft and 3,500 personnel will take part in the exercises launched by it, which will continue until June 15.
Today, Moscow also started exercises in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, in which 60 of its ships and boats will participate.
