Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a code of conduct to all TV channels.
PEMRA has said in its orders that airtime should not be given to a person who incites anti-state sentiments.
According to PEMRA, the May 9 incidents destroyed government property, fueled anti-state sentiments to undermine the federation.
The PEMRA orders said that the anti-state activities were carried out by the agitated workers of a political party whose aim was to harm the institutions and the state.
PEMRA further said that this is a terrible trend, which should be condemned, media boycott of those who promote such activities, blackout of those who spread hatred.
