Even female athletes are not safe from sexual harassment in India. Indian women wrestlers have given a five-day ultimatum to take action against federation chief Brij Bhushan over sexual harassment.
The wrestlers say that if action is not taken, the medals will be thrown into the river Ganga in protest, while there is also a plan to go on a hunger strike at India Gate if the demands of the women wrestlers are not met.
Women wrestlers have been protesting in New Delhi since April 23. Last Sunday, the Delhi Police took several wrestlers into temporary custody.
On this situation, the world governing body of wrestling issued a warning to suspend the Indian federation.
United World Wrestling says authorities should conduct a full and impartial investigation into the allegations.
