Lahore: An application has been filed in the Lahore High Court for the reinstatement of Nawaz Sharif as the President of Muslim League-N.
In the petition filed by local lawyer Afaq Advocate, it has been argued that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified from the National Assembly in 2017. In 2018, the court ordered the removal of Nawaz Sharif from the party presidency.
It has been requested in the petition that the court should order Nawaz Sharif to be reinstated as the president of the party.
Meanwhile, the registrar’s office of the Lahore High Court has objected to the request for restoration of Nawaz Sharif as the president of the Muslim League-N, in which it has been said that Nawaz Sharif has been disqualified by the Supreme Court, and the Lahore High Court cannot hear it.
Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid Election Commission, Federal Government and Prime Minister of Pakistan have been made parties in the petition filed by lawyer Afaq Advocate regarding the restoration of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to the party post.
It has been said in the petition that Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid filed a petition to remove Nawaz Sharif from the leadership. In 2018, the Supreme Court ordered the removal of Nawaz Sharif from the party presidency. The Election Commission has disqualified Imran Khan from NA-95 Mianwali, Imran Khan has not been removed from the party leadership. The court should issue an order to restore Nawaz Sharif to the party presidency.
