Army’s Naeem Akhtar and WAPDA’s Isha Imran became the fastest athletes of the National Games.

Army’s dominance continued on the first day of the National Games athletics event, with Army topping the medal board with 7 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals.

WAPDA came second with 5 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals, Higher Education Commission (HEC) stood third with 1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals while Sindh, Air Force and Navy got one each. Won a bronze medal.

The first day’s events in athletics at the National Games were completed, with WAPDA’s Isha Imran taking the first position in the women’s 100m race.

Isha Imran won the gold medal by covering the distance in 11.15 seconds, winning the title of the fastest athlete of the National Games 2023.

Tehmin Khan of Army won the silver medal by covering the distance in 11.33 seconds.

WAPDA’s Arooj Khan won the bronze medal by covering the distance in 11.78 seconds.

Gohar Shehbaz of WAPDA won silver and Ali Ahmed of HEC won bronze.

Army’s Jamshed won the gold medal in men’s shot put, he took the first position by throwing the shot 16.49 meters.

Zohaib of Wapda won silver and Bilal Shahid of Wapda won bronze.

In the 400m men’s hurdle, Abdul Razzaq won the gold medal, covering the distance in 51.31 seconds to take the first position.

Army’s Shahid Ramzan won silver and WAPDA’s Osama Bashir won bronze.

Army’s Afzal won the gold medal in men’s long jump, Afzal finished first with a 7-point jump of 47 meters.

Army’s Kashif won silver and HEC’s Faraz Khan won bronze.

WAPDA’s Mohammad Akhtar won the gold medal in men’s 5000m race

Muhammad Akhtar took the first position by covering the distance of 5000 meters in 15 minutes 32 seconds 80, Sohail Amir of WAPDA won silver, Ali Hassan of Navy won bronze medal.

In women’s high jump, WAPDA’s Rabab Ansari won gold, WAPDA’s Noreen Fatima won silver and HEC’s Umtal won bronze.

In women’s 800m, WAPDA’s Rabia Ashiq won the gold medal, Army’s Rubella won the silver and HEC’s Sunina Maswar won the bronze.
