Tehran: Six personnel were killed in a clash between the Border Force and an armed separatist group on the border of Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province.
According to Iranian media, 6 Border Security Force personnel were killed in Saravan near Iran’s border with Pakistan. The clash between the border guards and the attackers continued for several hours.
Fresh troops of the Iranian army were sent to the border on the report of the clash, but the attackers had already killed the officers and escaped with their weapons.
It should be noted that the borders of poverty-stricken Sistan-Baluchistan also meet with Afghanistan. Drug traffickers, separatists and anti-government militias continue to clash with border security forces in the province.
It should be noted that on March 11, two policemen were shot dead in clashes with militants in the same province.
