Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has announced a major reduction in the prices of petroleum products.
The Ministry of Finance also issued a notification for the new prices of petroleum products.
Addressing the nation, Ishaq Dar announced that the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 12 per liter for the next 15 days from 12 pm today.
He said that petrol will be available at Rs 270 per liter instead of Rs 282 from today.
Ishaq Dar said that the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs 30 per litre, which will now be available at Rs 258 from Rs 288.
The finance minister further said that kerosene has been reduced by Rs 12, the new price of which will be reduced from Rs 176 7 paise to Rs 164 7 paise.
He said that light diesel oil is being reduced by Rs 12, which will be sold at Rs 152 68 paise from Rs 164 68 paisa.
Ishaq Dar hoped that the reduction in petrol prices would lead to a reduction in the prices of other commodities.
The finance minister said that the transporters are also requested to reduce the fares now.
