The election campaign for the by-elections in Karachi ended at 12 midnight.
Polling for 11 USCs and 15 ward seats of the city will be held on Sunday, May 7.
A total of 234 candidates are contesting in the by-elections.
As many as 115 candidates will be contesting on 15 seats in the wards.
It should be noted that polling in connection with the elections in 24 districts of Sindh will continue from 8 am to 5 pm without any break on May 7.
The Election Commission has written to the Home Ministry to provide security, stating that deployment of forces is required in case of any untoward incident.
The letter said that Rangers should be deployed as a quick response force of the Army.
