Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik explained the reason for not taking his retirement.
Shoaib Malik, who plays for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), said, “Believe me, even though I am the oldest in the team, you can compare my fitness to a 25-year-old player.”
Speaking during the BPL, he said that ‘I will continue to play cricket and that’s why I am not even thinking about retirement.’
Shoaib Malik made his Test debut in Pakistan cricket team in 2001, ODI debut in 1999 and T20 debut in 2006.
Shoaib Malik played the last Test match in the Pakistan team in 2015, the last ODI in 2019 and the last T20 match in 2021.
In total, Shoaib Malik has represented Pakistan in 35 Tests, 287 ODIs and 124 T20 International matches.
It should be noted that Shoaib Malik, who has been out of the Pakistan cricket team for a long time, celebrated his 41st birthday yesterday.
