Islamabad: Pakistani women will not be able to perform Hajj without Muharram this year.
Despite Saudi Arabia allowing women to perform Hajj without Muharram, Pakistani women will perform Hajj under previous rules.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said in a conversation with the Arab media that the Hajj arrangements for this year have been made under the former Hajj scheme, so the women of Pakistan will not be able to benefit from the facility of Hajj without Muharram.
He said that in our approved policy, the old scheme was kept according to which women will go for Hajj with Muharram. Not implementing this policy will not have much impact on Pakistani women as they prefer to perform Hajj with their families anyway.
The spokesman said that under the old scheme, women belonging to the Sunni faith went for Hajj with Muharram, while Shia women could go without Muharram in certain circumstances. The government of Saudi Arabia has allowed women from all over the world to perform Hajj without Muharram.
