In Rawalpindi, the rate of children infected with measles has increased to an alarming level.
According to District Health Officer Ehsan Ghani, 320 children have been infected with measles in Rawalpindi since January.
In this regard, the DHO says that 8 children affected by measles have died so far this year, while the vaccination process is going on rapidly.
Ehsan Ghani has said that the scope of vaccination has been expanded, most of the 320 children affected by measles have recovered.
On the other hand, sources say that 142 cases of measles have been reported in 46 union councils of Rawal Town, while 24 children were infected with measles in Taxila.
The Department of Primary and Secondary Health has taken notice of the increase in the number of children affected by measles and has directed to speed up vaccination against measles.
