According to Hussain Jahan’s request, on August 29, 2019, the Alipore court of Kolkata issued an arrest warrant for Muhammad Shami.
Muhammad Shami challenged this order in the Sessions Court on September 9, 2019, which ordered the stay of the arrest warrant proceedings.
Hussain Jahan approached the Calcutta High Court in this regard, but the High Court rejected his plea.
