Referendum planning for important amendments is taking place in Uzbekistan today.
According to international media reports, one of the important amendments is to extend the presidential term from 5 to 7 years.
This amendment also includes removing the restriction on the third term of the president.
This referendum will allow President Shaukat Mirzayev to remain in power until 2040.
It should be remembered that President Shaukat Mirzayev has been in power in Uzbekistan since 2016.
