A fire broke out near Khairpur in a bogie of the Karachi Express going from Karachi to Lahore, 2 people including a woman died, while the search for 4 missing children is on.
The passengers of the fire-hit bogie jumped to save their lives.
According to DS Railway Mahmoodur Rehman Lakho, the affected bogie has been removed from the track and the inland track from Karachi has been restored.
Mahmoodur Rahman Lakho said that there was a fire in bogie number 4 of the Karachi Express going from Karachi to Lahore.
After the incident, the affected bogie was separated and the front part of the train was sent to Khairpur while the back part was sent to Gambit.
Due to the accident, the up track was completely suspended and trains from Karachi to Punjab were halted at stations before Gambit.
Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and brought the fire under control.
