Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has sought permission from the government to send the team to India.
According to Secretary PHF Haider Hussain, a letter has been written to PSB for NOC regarding sending the national team to India.
The Asian Hockey Champions Trophy will be played from August 3 to 12 in the Indian city of Chennai, in which teams from 6 countries including Pakistan will participate.
Haider Hussain said that they will be able to play the Olympics qualifying round only after playing the Asian Champions Trophy.
He added that the biggest hurdle in going to India is funds, Rs 4 crore is needed to participate in the tournaments.
Secretary PHF also said that apart from government agencies, sponsors are also in touch for special funds.
