Caretaker Health Minister Punjab Dr. Javed Akram has said that 20 suspected cases of monkey pox have been reported in Islamabad.
Talking to Geo News, Dr. Javed Akram said that 2 cases of Monkey Pox have been reported in Islamabad.
He said that isolation wards have been set up in Children’s and General Hospitals, children aged 9 to 15 years are more affected by monkey pox.
Dr Javed Akram says that there is a facility to test monkey pox, currently there is no monkey pox vaccine in Pakistan.
Caretaker Health Minister of Punjab said that arrangements will be made for vaccines from abroad, monkey pox is still not in the form of an epidemic, there is no monkey pox test facility in private labs.
He says that monkey pox is spread by touching the patient, a team of doctors has been appointed at the airport, the team will check the fever of the passengers coming from abroad.
