Toronto: About 15 million dollars (about four hundred and four billion rupees) in gold was stolen at Pearson International Airport, Canada’s busiest airport.
According to international media reports, Canadian police officials said that this week, a robbery occurred after a container was unloaded from an airplane at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Regional Police Inspector Stephen Deustin said that the plane landed as per normal procedure after which the container was unloaded and taken to the holding cargo.
Police officials said that apart from gold, there was a shipment of other high-value items in the container. The theft occurred shortly after the container was placed in the holding cargo, upon which the missing container was reported to the police.
However, the police did not release any statement regarding where the container came from, what was its final destination and what valuable items were inside it apart from gold.
