Imran Khan's request to stop proceedings in 121 cases set for hearing

The Lahore High Court accepted for hearing the request of Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to stay proceedings in 121 cases.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Justice Farooq Haider of Lahore High Court will hear the application today. Chairman PTI Imran Khan had approached the Lahore High Court against 121 cases against him.

Interior Secretary, Ministry of Law, Defense, Secretary Cabinet Division, Chief Secretary, IG Punjab, Anti-Corruption, NAB, FIA, Prime Minister, PEMRA and Election Commission have been made parties in the petition.

In the petition filed by Imran Khan in the Lahore High Court, it has been stated that 121 FIRs have been registered against me across the country. Cases were registered in Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. Until the decision of the petition, the court ordered to stop the proceedings in all the listed cases.

In the petition, the court has been requested to stop disciplinary action in the already filed cases and the court should issue an order to stop taking criminal action without notice.
