The work of laying new synthetic turf has been started in National Hockey Stadium Lahore.
Punjab Sports Adviser Wahab Riaz inaugurated the laying of synthetic turf.
On this occasion, Wahab Riaz said that the project of laying new synthetic turf will cost 16 crores, the first step has been taken to revive hockey and bring back international hockey.
Wahab Riaz said that providing facilities to the hockey players according to international standards, the National Hockey Stadium is the largest hockey stadium in the world and will make it even better.
He said that after the approval of FIH, an international hockey event will be held, and soon a hockey national side event will be held in which players from all over the country will participate.
Sports Advisor Punjab said that the National Hockey Stadium will be upgraded with the support of the private sector, the new synthetic turf company offered to build a futsal ground under the bridges.
On this occasion, souvenirs were presented to Wahab Riaz, Secretary Sports Shahid Zaman and DG Sports Asif Tufail.
Director Youth Affairs Umeer Hasan, Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser and officers of PMU were also present on the occasion.
