A new study has revealed that unwashed makeup brushes contain more bacteria than a toilet seat.
A study conducted by cosmetic tools brand Spectrum Collections revealed that makeup brushes stored in the bedroom, vanity, brush bag, makeup bag, bathroom holder or drawer if even once in two weeks If not washed, they are dirtier than a toilet seat.
During the study, the researchers compared samples taken from brushes and toilet seats that had not been washed for 2 weeks and were considered clean.
Research has revealed that such makeup brushes harbor more bacteria than a normal toilet seat.
After comparing the makeup brushes and the toilet seat, it has also been revealed that the place where the brushes are kept does not make any difference to their cleanliness.
According to a report by the New York Post, cosmetic scientist Carly Moslieh told the Spectrum Collection about research findings that makeup brushes can transfer bacteria, dead skin cells and oil from the face to other products, although all bacteria are harmful. They are not harmful, but repeated use of dirty brushes can lead to acne or other skin damage.
