Tehran: Iran has announced that a technical delegation will go to Saudi Arabia this week to review the steps to open an embassy there.
According to the Iranian media, the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani, announced this in a press conference, adding that progress is being made on the appointment of ambassadors between the two countries.
Spokesman Nasser Kanani welcomed the Saudi intentions of a ceasefire in Yemen and said that Iran also supports the extension of the ceasefire and the end of the war in Yemen.
The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry added that the restoration of diplomatic relations and the end of the war will restore peace in the region and the sustainable political process of Yemen will bring stability to the region.
It should be remembered that the first successful negotiations for the restoration of diplomatic relations between the fierce rival countries Saudi Arabia and Iran were held in the mediation of China on March 10 and a few days ago the foreign ministers of the two countries also met in China.
