New Zealand won the T20 series against Sri Lanka 1-2

New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets in the third T20I to win the three-match series 1-2. Tim Seifert was adjudged Man of the Match as well as Man of the Series.

In the third and deciding T20 of the series played in Queenstown, Sri Lanka batted first against New Zealand and scored 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Kaushal Mendis played an innings of 73 runs, Kaushal Perera scored 33 runs and Patham Nissanka scored 25 runs. New Zealand’s Ben Lister took 2 wickets.

In reply, the hosts got off to a confident start, with Tim Seifert playing a responsible batting role, scoring a brilliant 88 runs with 10 fours and 3 sixes to help the Kiwis win.

Captain Tom Latham scored 31 runs. New Zealand achieved the target with 6 wickets to spare and took the series 1-2.
