Tehran: The Iranian government has decided to install cameras in public places to monitor naked women.
According to Iranian media, the Iranian police has issued a statement that cameras will be installed in public places and streets to monitor women who violate the mandatory dress code in order to identify and punish naked women.
Once such women are identified, violators will receive text messages warning them of the consequences, police added.
According to Iran’s Meezan news agency and other state media, the move is aimed at curbing resistance to the hijab law. Such resistance undermines the spiritual base of the country and spreads insecurity.
It should be noted that an increasing number of Iranian women are removing their hijab, and as a result, several women have been arrested, including Faiza Hashmi, the daughter of late Iranian President Akbar Hashmi.
