Social media site Twitter charged higher fees for blue ticks from Twitter users in Saudi Arabia than in other countries.
According to Arab media, organizations in Saudi Arabia who want Blue Tick on their accounts will have to pay about $65 more than organizations in the United States.
According to Twitter, the fee for verifying an organization’s Twitter account in Saudi Arabia is $1,065.6 (4,000 Saudi Riyals), while this fee is $1,000 in the United States.
According to Arab media, organizations in the UAE are being charged almost the same fees as in the US, while the fees for organizations in Kuwait, Egypt and Morocco are the same.
Organizations in the UAE are charging $1,700 (Dh3,700) for a Blue Tick.
According to foreign media, Twitter has set a monthly blue tick fee of $8 for users.
It should be noted that last month it was announced by Twitter that the removal of blue ticks from users’ accounts will be started from April 1.
In this regard, Twitter asked individual users and organizations to sign up for its flagship subscription program to keep their blue check marks.
